Usage

NOTICE
Notice to the user and/or patient: any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device must be reported to the manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member State where the user and/or patient is established.
This wheelchair is designed for frequent or occasional use by a single occupant weighing up to 100 kg and can be used indoors and outdoors.

FOLDING AND UNFOLDING THE WHEELCHAIR

To unfold the wheelchair, open the frame by pulling the armrests, then press down on the side tubes until you are sure that the wheelchair is completely unfolded. Before folding the wheelchair, completely remove the footrests or ensure that they are fixed and in an upright position. To unfold the wheelchair, just lift the centre edge of the seat upholstery.

LOCK THE WHEELS

Push the brakes forward until they engage in the locked position. Do not attempt to sit down or stand up without first applying the brakes. Always apply both brakes simultaneously.

ADJUSTING THE LENGTH OF THE FOOTRESTS

The position of the footrests (standard - flat - or elevated) can be adjusted to suit the length of the user's legs. The footrest should be adjusted to support the weight of the thighs. The lower edge of the footrest must be at least 7cm above the ground to allow sufficient clearance when negotiating ramps or slopes. To do this, loosen the adjusting screw with a spanner and fold the foot plates inwards or outwards to achieve the desired position. Then tighten the screw carefully.

USE THE REAR SUPPORT PEDALS AND BRAKES

Use the rear support pedals to raise the front wheels, e.g. when climbing a kerb. To do this, push the rear support pedals down with one foot.

CLIMBING A KERB

Approach the kerb facing the kerb. The caregiver should use the rear support pedals to raise the front wheels and lower them onto the kerb once the kerb has been raised. Finally, the caregiver should push the wheelchair forward, lifting it slightly to raise the kerb if necessary.

LOWERING A KERB

Position the front wheels in front of the kerb line. The caregiver should use the support pedals to raise the front wheels and tilt the occupant slightly backwards. While keeping the wheels up, lower the wheelchair slightly towards the kerb.

When going down a kerb, the front wheels must be raised to prevent the occupant from falling off.

MAINTENANCE

The user or caregiver should check the safety of the wheelchair at regular intervals.

  1. Check the handles and non-slip rubbers and make sure that they are solid and secure.
  2. For correct adjustment, check the wheel locks and ensure that the large wheels are locked when engaged.
  3. Check all bolts, nuts and joints to ensure that they remain solid.
  4. If the wheelchair is fitted with tyres, check that the tyre pressure is correct.
  5. Check that the adjusted length of the footplate is correct.
  6. Check the rear wheel axle and the front fork before using the wheelchair.
  7. Check and ensure that all parts are tight and securely locked before using the wheelchair.

INDICATIONS
It is designed for the elderly, the patient, the frail and the disabled, as a mobile chair.
Weight capacity 100 kg.

TIPS AND PRECAUTIONS

  1. Do not drive the wheelchair on a bumpy road. Avoid hitting the wheelchair against obstacles.
  2. When driving the wheelchair on inclined terrain, the user must wear the seat belt. When driving downhill with an angle of inclination of more than 5 degrees, the accompanying person should turn the wheelchair face upwards and drive the wheelchair downhill slowly and carefully. Do not drive the wheelchair downhill with the user upside down or it will cause the wheelchair to tip over and cause injury to the user.
  3. Do not drop the wheelchair by its own force of inertia onto a step, this could damage the frame or wheels.
  4. Do not climb up or down steps and do not climb stairs without an assistant. Do not lift the wheelchair with the user seated in it, otherwise you will damage the wheelchair on the escalator.
  5. Do not lean your body out of the wheelchair to prevent the wheelchair from tipping over.
  6. Do not drive the wheelchair on escalators.
  7. Do not step on the footrest when getting in and out of the wheelchair. Do not stand on the footrest. Otherwise it may tip over.
  8. Do not tilt the wheelchair or turn the wheelchair in a sudden direction. Do not brake the wheelchair abruptly.
  9. The parking brake is only for parking the wheelchair. Do not use it to slow down the wheelchair or to brake the wheelchair in motion.
  10. Do not force the chassis or the push handle to fold the wheelchair. To fold, lift the seat of the wheelchair from the centre.
  11. Do not lean forward in the wheelchair unless both feet are on the floor. This is especially important for users with heavy casts with raised footrests.
