    1.1.1 Objective and target group of this user manual This user manual contains the information necessary for using the E-621.SR as intended. We assume that the user has basic knowledge of closed-loop systems, motion control concepts, and applicable safety measures.

     Eliminate any malfunctions that may affect safety immediately. The operator is responsible for installing and operating the E-621.SR correctly  Install the E-621.SR system near the AC outlet and such that the AC power plug can be reached easily.
  • Page 8 DANGER Danger of death due to high voltage. E-621.SR LVPZT Controller/Amplifier Modules generate voltages up to 130 V for driving LVPZTs which can cause death or serious injury. When working with these devices or using PZT products from other manufacturers we strongly advise you to follow general accident prevention regulations.

    E-802 servo controller submodule is bypassed with J1 in position 2-3. Normally, you do not need to change jumper J1. Access to J1 requires removing the E-621.SR module from the chassis. See "Components and adjustment elements" on p. 18 for more information.

    It is possible to command up to twelve E-621.SRs over a single RS-232 or USB interface from a single host PC. The E-621.SR connected to the RS-232 or USB link (the master) relays commands to the other units (slaves) on the network. Responses from the slaves are then relayed by the master back to the PC.

    NOTICE Air Circulation Place the E-621.SR system in a location with adequate ventilation. Insufficient air flow will cause overheating and premature failure.  Do not cover the ventilation slots on the top side of the E-621.SR.

The recommended maximum range of the control input voltage for the E-621.SR amplifier module therefore is -2 V to 12 V, resulting in a piezo voltage range of -20 V to 120 V.
