Servers Running Non-Compaq SCO
OpenServer 5
To access the driver installation information for systems running non-Compaq
SCO OpenServer 5:
1. Place the diskette labeled Documentation Diskette in the diskette drive
of a server or PC.
2. Reboot the system.
3. Select the file named INSTALL.TXT to view (Enter) or print (F7).
4. Follow the instructions in this file to install the SMART-2DH
Controller driver in a server running non-Compaq version of SCO
OpenServer 5.
Updating the Compaq Insight
Manager Agents
If you are using Compaq Insight Manager, you will need to update the Insight
Agents for this monitoring utility for support of the new SMART-2DH Array
Controller.
If you used SmartStart 3.40 or later to install the operating system on a new
SMART-2DH Controller installation or upgrade your driver in an existing
installation the agents were automatically updated for you by SmartStart, you
will not have to manually update the agents.
The agents included in SmartStart 3.40 provide the same Insight Manager
support as for the SMART Controller and includes support for SMART-2DH
only. The agents in SmartStart versions later than 3.40 will provide full
Insight Manager support for the SMART-2DH Controller.
If you did not use SmartStart 3.40 or later as part of your SMART-2DH
Controller installation you must manually update the Insight Agents. The
correct agents can be obtained from your local Compaq Reseller or
Authorized Compaq Service Provider. Refer to the documentation included
with Compaq Insight Manager for the correct procedure for updating agents.
