Client LAN

The following list identifies the format of the hosts and lmhosts files for a
four-node PDC/O5000 cluster with an Ethernet cluster interconnect:
IP address node1
IP address node1_san
IP address node2
IP address node2_san
IP address node3
IP address node3_san
IP address node4
IP address node4_san
Physically, the structure of the client network is no different than that used for
a nonclustered configuration.
To ensure continued access to the database when a cluster node is evicted from
the cluster, each network client should have physical network access to all of
the cluster nodes.
Software used by the client to communicate to the database must be able to
reconnect to another cluster node in the event of a node eviction. For example,
clients connected to cluster node1 need the ability to automatically reconnect
to another node if cluster node1 fails.
