Compaq StorageWorks Command Console

Compaq StorageWorks Secure Path
for Windows 2000
The Compaq Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to upgrade the ROM
Firmware images for Compaq System product options, such as array
controllers, disk drives, and tape drives used for non-shared storage.
The Compaq StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC) is a graphical user
interface (GUI) used to create, configure, and manage MA8000/EMA12000
Storage Subsystem resources in a PDC/O5000 cluster, including RAID
implementation, disk mirroring, and disk partitioning.
The SWCC provides a user-friendly method of executing the Command Line
Interface (CLI) commands for the HSG80 Array Controllers. While the CLI
window provides very detailed control over the storage subsystem, the SWCC
replicates most of the CLI window functions in a graphic form and provides a
user-friendly method of executing CLI commands.
For details about using SWCC, refer to the documentation provided with the
HSG80 Array Controller.
Compaq StorageWorks Secure Path for Windows 2000 (Secure Path) must be
installed on each server (node) in the PDC/O5000. Secure Path monitors all
I/O paths to the storagesets in the shared storage subsystems. If any
component along an active I/O path fails, Secure Path detects this failure and
automatically reroutes I/O activity through the defined backup path. Failovers
are transparent and non-disruptive to applications.
Secure Path Manager is the client application used to manage multiple path
StorageWorks RAID array configurations. Secure Path Manager displays a
graphical presentation of the current multiple I/O path environment and
indicates the location and state of all configured storage units on each path. To
facilitate load balancing, Secure Path Manager provides the capability to move
storagesets from their configured paths to other paths during normal cluster
operation. Secure Path Manager can be run locally at the cluster nodes or
remotely at a management station.
