Figure 2-10 shows an acceptable method for cabling the I/O path components
in a quad redundancy configuration. In this example, the following
connections are made:
I
Each of four host adapters in each node connects to the same-numbered
Fibre Channel SAN Switch (host adapter #1 to Fibre Channel SAN
Switch #1, host adapter #2 to Fibre Channel SAN Switch #2, host
adapter #3 to Fibre Channel SAN Switch #3, host adapter #4 to Fibre
Channel SAN Switch #4).
I
The two odd-numbered Fibre Channel SAN Switches connect to port 1
of the array controllers. Fibre Channel SAN Switch #1 connects to array
controller A, port 1 in each storage subsystem. Fibre Channel SAN
Switch #3 connects to array controller B, port 1 in each storage
subsystem.
I
The two even-numbered Fibre Channel SAN Switches connect to port 2
of the array controllers. Fibre Channel SAN Switch #2 connects to array
controller A, port 2 in each storage subsystem. Fibre Channel SAN
Switch #4 connects to array controller B, port 2 in each storage
subsystem.
