Sensor IQ Main Breaker Kits
Overview
The Sensor IQ panel ships standard with main lugs. If your installation requires
a main breaker, several types of Main Breaker Kits are available from ETC.
These instructions cover main breaker kits for 120 V or 277 V Sensor IQ
panels. Models vary depending on panel mounting orientation (top or bottom
wire feed location), feed type, current rating, and short circuit current rating.

De-energize main feed to relay panel and follow appropriate Lockout/
Tagout procedures as described in NFPA Standard 70E. It is important to
note that electrical equipment such as relay panels can present an arc flash
safety hazard if improperly serviced. This is due to available large short
circuit currents on the feeders of the equipment. Any work on energized
equipment must comply with OSHA Electrical Safe Working Practices.

    Install the Main Breaker Kit to the Panel 1. Using a 9/16 inch socket wrench, remove the three nuts that secure the main lugs to the Sensor IQ panel. • Set the nuts aside. They will be used for the breaker installation.
  • Page 3 , and to determine if spacers are necessary for installation. Tin-plated copper spacers (ETC part number 7131A3085) are included in some main breaker kits to fill the space between the interior bus bars and the bus bars affixed to the breaker.
  • Page 4 Install Main Breaker Front Filler Plate The front panel of Sensor IQ has a main breaker access panel that covers the main breaker space. Before reinstalling the front panel and door, remove the main breaker access panel from the rear of the front panel and replace it with the front filler plate included in the main breaker kit.
