Using the alphanumeric keypad
The alphanumeric keypad lets you enter names and numbers into the private directory and
information directory. Text is entered using the correspondence of keys with letters or signs.
1 = -/
5 = JKL
space :
2 = ABC
6 = MNO
3 = DEF
7 = PQRS
4 = GHI
8 = TUV
9 = WXYZ

When a text entry is prompted:
- Select the required character by successively pressing the
relevant key.
Example:
- Pressing key once displays the letter A,
- Pressing key twice displays the letter B,
- Pressing key three times displays the letter C,
- Pressing key four times displays the number 2.
Note: Only upper case characters are displayed.
To enter a letter using another key:
- Without waiting, press the other key to enter the letter by
using the same procedure.
To enter another letter using the same key:
- Wait (3 seconds) for the cursor to blink at the next space.
To replace an entry:
- Press the or
(the cursor will be positioned under the character),
- then enter the new character.
To accept an entry:
- Press the key.
