◼ Problem Description:
This is a troubleshooting guide for users having trouble using a WISE node with USB port.
Whatever the first time using such models, or people who has experienced have successfully
using USB port to connect WISE node with USB, as long as you have problem using USB
connection, you can refer to the troubleshooting steps as below.
◼ Answer:
Please following the steps, it separates to 2 phases:
USB connection check phase:
1、Advantech WISE USB Driver.
2、USB host connection cross check.
3、Try another device with the same model name.
4、Avoid I/O Board HotPlug.
Information collecting Phase:
5、Connector or pin.
6、USB port picture.
7、WISE Error.
8、RMA.

  • Page 3 3A、Try another device with the same model name. If the Node is connecting to the same PC working with Advantech WISE Studio by USB cable before, and not with a new Advantech Node that you connected to, please first make sure to...
  • Page 4 3B、Try another device with the same model name. If no, please try to connect another Advantech Node with the same model name, to make sure if it has connected to a defect one. For example, if the original one will not be detected, but could detect when connecting to another Node, that means the original one could be defected.
  • Page 5 4、Avoid I/O board HotPlug: As shown in the inner case, there is pin connector between mainboard and I/O board. So when, power source is connected, hot plug or hot unplug could damage the mainboard and eventually cause a defect device, please avoid this behavior.
  • Page 6 Information collecting Phase: If all the above troubleshooting has been tried. You might have to initial RMA service, but before that, please help collecting following information: 5、Connector or pin. If the I/O connector has been incorrectly connected, pins in the pin connector will damage, please check and provide picture as below 6、USB port picture.
  • Page 7 If USB connection partially works, when having chance to connect with WISE Studio, please tack chance to Inquiry System log from the device. For getting Syslog for us, please follow the screenshot below and download the result for us. 8、RMA If everyway has been tried and none of the step works, you could probably discuss with local service for RMA, and before RMA, please record the whole process to help RMA department to identify the reproduce process.
