Internal Modem
The NEC Versa 2205C has an internal modem that you can
use to send and receive faxes, cruise the Internet, and
download information. A modem converts data so it can be
transmitted over phone lines and then converts it back again
so you can read it on your computer.
NOTE
necessitate disabling the internal modem. See the
online Basics for how to disable the internal modem.

Your NEC Versa 2205C comes with several online service
gateways — all the basic software you need to communi-
cate with the outside world.
Use the following procedure to connect a phone line to the
NEC Versa 2205C.
