BEFORE DIGGING
Complete all required maintenance before operating.
1. Raise boom from boom rest far enough to clear the
carrier cab completely.
2. After checking to be sure of sufficient clearance,
swing boom away from carrier cab and then release
swing pedal. Note effectiveness of automatic
swing brake. Notify maintenance personnel imme-
diately if swing brake does not hold.
3. Extend boom fully and stop engine. Following
lubrication chart, lubricate items which could not
be serviced with boom in rest.
4. Operate the Gradall slowly through a few complete
digging cycles to warm the hydraulic oil throughout
the system. Observe all operations, check for leaks.
Before attempting to remove or install the
front window, place the bucket on the
ground and stop the engine.
5. Install the appropriate bucket or attachment for the
job to be done.
