To prepare the vehicle for storage:
Remove the battery, see page 125
(REMOVING THE BATTERY) and store

Wash and dry the vehicle, see page 134
(CLEANING).
Polish the painted surfaces with wax,
see page 134 (CLEANING).
Inflate the tires, see page 62 (TIRES).
Do not drain the fuel tank. However, if
availa ble , you may wish to add a
p r o p r i e t a r y f u e l s t o r a g e a d d i t i v e ,
available from your aprilia dealer or
automobile supply stores. Follow the
instructions on the container.
NOTE
D o n o t a d d m o r e t h a n t h e
recommended amount of additive.

Some fuel additives may damage some
components of your fuel system. Check

with your Local aprilia Dealer.
Place the vehicle in a cool, dry room,
away from direct sunlight, with minimum
temperature variations.
Before carrying out the following
operations, let the engine and the
exhaust silencer cool down until they
reach room temperature. Failure to
obs erve this warning can lead to
serious burns.
Place a plastic bag over the muffler
outlet pipe, and tape or tie it tight.
NOTE
You must use the appropriate
front and rear support stands to store your
vehicle so that both tires are raised from
the ground.

Cover the vehicle with an old sheet or a
light canvas, do not use a sheet of
plastic or other waterproof material. This
will cause condensation which will result
in corrosion.

Remove the plastic bag from the
muffler outlet pipe.
Uncover and clean the vehicle, see
page 134 (CLEANING).
Check the charge of the battery, see
p a g e 1 2 5

(INSTALLING THE BATTERY).
Carry
out
the
preliminary
operations, see page 67 (PRE-RIDE
CHECKS CHART).
WARNING
Test ride the vehicle at moderate speed
in a low traffic area before you ride in
heavy traffic.
