STARTING WITH FLOODED ENGINE
If the starting is not carried out properly or if
there is too much fuel in the intake ducts,
the engine may get flooded.
To clean a flooded engine:
u
Press the starter button " " (1) for a few
seconds (letting the engine crank) with
completely open throttle (2) (pos. A).

STARTING WITH COLD ENGINE
If ambient temperature is low (close to or
below 0°C), you may have trouble starting
the engine at the first attempt.
If so:
u
Press starter button " " (1) and rotate
simultaneously the throttle twistgrip (2).
If the engine starts:
u
Release of the throttle twistgrip (2).
u
If idle speed is erratic, flip the throttle grip
(2) moderately several times.
To start, see page 35 (MOVING OFF AND
RIDING).
If the engine fails to start
Wait a few seconds and repeat the COLD

START PROCEDURE.
If necessary, remove the spark plug, see
u
page 57 (SPARK PLUG) and make sure
that it is not wet.
u
If the spark plug is wet, clean and dry it.
Before reinstalling it:
NOTE
Put a clean cloth on the cylinder,
near the spark plug seat, in order to protect
it from oil sprays.
u
Press the start push-button " " (1) and
let the starter run for about five seconds
without accelerating.
STARTING AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF
INACTIVITY
After a long period of inactivity, if the start
is not immediate, this may be due to the
fact that the fuel circuit is partially empty.
If so:
u
Press the starter push-button " " (1) for
about five seconds, in order to ensure
the filling of the float chamber.
