CHECKING THE FRONT AND REAR
SUSPENSION

CAUTION
Have front suspension oil changed at
an Official aprilia Dealer, who can
e n s u r e y o u a c c u r a t e a n d p r o m p t
service.
NOTE
Halve maintenance intervals if
the vehicle is used in rainy or dusty
conditions, on rough roads or for racing.
Have the front suspension oil changed
every 18,750 miles (30,000 km) or every 4
years.
Perform the following checks after the first
625 miles (1000 km) and every 3,750 miles
(6,000 km) afterwards:
Keep the front brake lever activated and
press down repeatedly on the handlebar
to compress the front fork.
The front fork should compress in a
smooth motion. Inspect the fork legs for
any traces of oil.
Make sure that all parts are properly
tightened and check the articulated joints
of the rear and front suspension for
proper operation.
CAUTION
In the event of malfunction or if the
suspension needs expert servicing,
contact an Official aprilia Dealer.

REAR SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENT

The rear suspension is composed of a
d o u b l e - e f f e c t
s h o c k
(compression/rebound braking). The shock
absorber is connected to the engine
through silent blocks.
Factory setting is designed to suit riders
weighing about 154.3 lb (70 Kg.). Turn the
ring nut (1) using the supplied lockring
wrench to change setting so as to meet
individual requirements (see chart).
