Source connections Balanced and unbalanced connections are available as shown. Line out connections are available to send audio signals to other equipment. Input mode, source, pre-out, and gain adjustments are made in the home screen of the web interface. Note: The input gain is only adjustable on the analog input source. Sliding and precise delay adjustment per channel is also available on the home screen.

Caution: The system impedance must not be not less than 2Ω. For landscape system design configuration, see the Episode outdoors brand page. Use 14 or 16 gauge stranded two-conductor speaker wire. Use burial rated wire as necessary for outdoor applications.

70V speaker wiring Burial-rated wire is recommended for all outdoor installations. An advantage of 70V systems is that a smaller wire gauge can be used. A 1,147' 20 gauge cable run only has an 11% power loss. A 18 gauge cable run can go up to 2,029' and a 16 gauge up to 2,783'.
  • Page 6 8Ω speaker wiring Burial-rated wire is recommended for all installations. Maximum performance can be achieved using the following recommendations: For wire runs up to 30 m (100'), 16-gauge wire or large. For wire runs up to 60 m(200'), 14-gauge wire or larger. For wire runs up to 90 m(300'), 12-gauge wire or larger.

To access the web interface without OvrC, enter the IP address into a web browser. The IP address is displayed on the front panel after powering the amplifier on. The Hybrid amplifier’s default IP address is 192.168.100.118, if you do not connect it to the LAN. The default login credentials are: Username: episode Password: episode...
  • Page 8 Input gain & volume control The Hybrid amplifier is optimized for peak performance when the source's input voltage is 1.4V. To help you achieve that number, the Hybrid amp includes a pre-amplified stage to modify the input source voltage. If the input voltage from the source is less than 1.4V, the speakers may sound under powered, or quieter than expected because the amplifier cannot reach the maximum power output.
  • Page 9 Volume calibration To calibrate source input gain and the inline volume control level: Connect all the speaker and audio source wiring. Connect power to the amplifier. Set all the volume controls to their maximum volume setting (if applicable). Set each output level adjustment knob to 50%. Set the input level for unused channels to minimum.
  • Page 10 If you are maxed out on the output level, turn the gain up on the Hybrid amp. Gain levels between 3 to 5 work well with a Triad Matrix, but this varies by device. Using the Hybrid amp for volume control Set the Triad Matrix to 75-80% fixed output for the zone.
