Introduction

An IXW-MA-SOFT or IXW-MAA-SOFT is a variant of an IXW-MA or IXW-MAA IP relay adaptor that contains licenses for Aiphone's PC master station software. It is programmed in the system was an IXW-MA(A) station and still offers the same relay output functions.

IX Support Tool has programming menus on both the left side of the program, and along the top. Navigation instructions for the left side menu are given in the format Menu, Submenu.
Example: Function Settings, SIF Settings.

Navigation instructions for the top menu are given in the format Menu, Submenu.
Example: File(F), Upload Settings to Station.

Adding an IXW-MA(A) to the System

Navigate to Station Information, Identification. This will display a list of existing stations. Click Add Station.

Select IXW-MA as the station type, enter the number of IXW-MA(A)s being added to the system, and click Add . This will add the station to the list. Click OK , then click Update on the main page.

To assign the stations their IP addresses and upload initial settings, navigate to Tools(T), System Configuration and follow the IX Series Quick Start Programming Guide.

Navigate to Network Settings, IP Address. This will display the stations and their network information. These can be adjusted as needed for the site. Record the IP address of the IXW-MA(A) for the next step, then click Update.

Navigate to Function Settings, SIF. Set the SIF Functionality to Enable for each station that will send signals to the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT, as well as for the IX-SOFT stations that will get their licenses from the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT.

Under SIF Settings, set the following for IX-SOFT stations:
Program Type: 1111
IPv4: The IP address for the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT
Destination Port: 65060
SSL: Enable
Connection: Socket

Scroll right. For each instance of IX-SOFT, place a check under Initialization Notice.

Use these settings for all other stations:
Program Type: 0100
IPv4: The IP address for the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT
Destination Port: 65014
SSL: Enable
Connection: Socket

Once everything is configured, click Update

Scroll right. For each station that will communicate with the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT, place a check under Change Contact.

Once everything is configured, click Update.

Navigate to Function Settings, SIF. For each IX-DA or IX-BA door station, make sure that SIF Functionality is set to Enable, then click Update.

Minimize IX Support Tool. Open a simple text editor like Notepad. This will be used to enter the information that the door station will use to communicate with the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT.

Fill it out with the following format:
0100,IP address of IXW-MA(A)-SOFT,65014,1

Save the file with a.ini extension; this will usually need to be entered manually in the file name, so set it to save as a.txt file. Set the encoding to ANSI, make sure it will be saved to a known destination, then click Save.

Navigate back to IX Support Tool. Click Upload SIF File towards the top right of the page.

Keep SIF Communication Settings selected. Click Browse to select the SIF.ini file that was created before.

Select all stations that will receive the SIF.ini file, then click Start Upload.

Relay Output Settings

The door stations will now send SIF signals to the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT when their relay output is triggered. To configure the outputs on the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT itself, navigate to Option Input / Relay Output Settings, Relay Output.

Each of the ten outputs on the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT can be assigned to a single station. By default, IX Support Tool will select Relay Output 1.

To configure an output, locate the IXW-MA on the list of stations. Use the drop-down under Function and select Contact Change SIF Event.

Scroll right and locate the Contact Change SIF Event column. Click Open to pull up a list of stations in the system. Select one and click OK .

The relay output time is controlled by the station sending the signal to the IXW-MA(A)-SOFT. To adjust this, scroll right to Output Time Range. Select an appropriate time range using the drop-down menu, then enter the time in seconds or miliseconds (as appropriate) under Output Time. Click Update .

To assign another output, use the [Display Settings] drop-down at the top of the page to select another relay. Repeat the same steps for each relay and station to be configured.

Uploading Settings to Stations

Navigate to File(F), Upload Settings to Station. Click Select to select all stations and click Settings . This will push the new configuration to the stations.

Export System Configuration

It is strongly recommended to back up the settings once everything is configured. This will prevent having to reprogram the system from scratch later.

Navigate to File(F), IX Support Tool System Configuration. Click Export and select a location to save the configuration folder. Click Finish to exit this screen.
