  • Page 5 The Eaton SPD Series is designed to mount on panelboards, switchgear, switchboards, busway, and motor control centers (MCCs). It is available with surge current capacity ratings from 50 to 400kA.   • Page 6 C C a a t t a a l l o o g g N N u u m m b b e e r r i i n n g g S S y y s s t t e e m m Each Eaton SPD Series unit has a name plate that identifies the parameters used for manufacture. These parameters are expressed in letters and numbers to reflect the series, kA rating, voltage code, feature package, and application.
  • Page 7 Conducting dielectric, Meggar, or Hi-potential testing with the SPD installed will cause internal damage to the SPD. The SPD will cause the test to fail. Every Eaton SPD Series unit is tested at the factory for dielectric breakdown. No further SPD testing is required for installation.
