8.5 Check procedures and corrective actions

8.5.1 Reset wheel home position

1) Turn off the RAL ® SmearBox.
2) Rotate the wheel manually until the marks are aligned.
3) Close the lid.
4) Press and hold the mode button while turning the RAL
5) Release the button when the machine initialization program starts.
6) The LED status changes from yellow to blue indicating that the equipment is ready.
7) Visually check that the marks are aligned.
Note that each RAL ® SmearBox is factory checked and adjusted. The initial position of the wheel
may differ slightly from the marks for performance reasons.
This procedure must be launch in case of board replacement.

8.5.2 Access to slide trolley

In case of failure (e.g. a broken microscope slide), you can easily access to the slide trolley. To access it,
remove the cover by following the steps below. Once all the maintenance operation are done, reverse
the steps to close the device.
In case of broken microscope slide, be careful not to cut yourself.
1) Unscrew the fast connectors (quarter turn)
2) Remove the cover by sliding it to the front
