Loosen the tailstock clamp nut and the lock
screw shown in Figure 73.

Use the tailstock adjustment screws on both
sides to adjust move the tailstock offset by
half the amount of the taper.
9.
Tighten the clamp nut, lock screw and adjust-
ment screws. Be careful not to move the
tailstock out of position when tightening the
adjustment screws.
10. Turn another .010'' off of the stock and check
for taper. Repeat steps 7-9 as necessary until
the desired amount of accuracy is achieved.
