10. PROLONGED SHUTDOWN/DESTRUCTION

If the barrier is not to be used for a long period of time, it is recommended:
• To store the barrier in the same conditions as before the installation ( Chap. 6.1, page 16).
• To leave the power on. If the motor remains permanently powered, a certain temperature is maintained in the body. This
eliminates problems of condensation and, at low temperature, prevents the gear motor oil from solidifying, which would
have the effect of not reproducing the performance of the barrier during the first switching operations following a long
period of inactivity.
If the equipment has been stored turned off, it is important to warm it up before turning it on if the ambient
temperature is below -15 ° Celsius (5 ° F). The heating system must be activated between 30 minutes and
one hour before switching on the equipment.
• Execute a new break-in of 3,000 obstacle opening and closing manoeuvres before start-up.
When the equipment is taken out of service, drain the oil from the gear motor and scrap the various components of the machine
through the appropriate channel (metal parts, electronic components, etc.) according to the legislation in force in the country
concerned.
