8.3. REPLACING THE SPRING ASSEMBLY

Ratchet and 16-mm ratchet extension.
1. Remove the top cover ( Chap. 8.1, page 38).
2. Shut off the power supply. ( Chap. 8.2, page 38)
3. Raise the arm slightly past 90° and tighten the upper stop so that the arm does not fall back down.
4. Note down the position of the upper location of the spring (1) on the hub (2)  Fig. A.
5. Loosen the locknut (4) and completely release the spring tension by loosening the nut (3)  Fig. B.
6. Unscrew the screw (5) for retaining the spring assembly on the hub and remove the faulty assembly  Fig. C.
7. Replace the spring assembly (1) and put the washers (6) and the fastening screw back into position (5). Screw down
everything  Fig. C.
8. Adjust the vertical position of the arm ( Chap. 7.5. Horizontal/vertical adjustment of the arm, page 35).
9. Adjust the spring tension ( Chap. 7.3. Adjusting the compensation, page 31).
