Enroll, delete, or reset a Yale Assure Lock 2 Deadbolt
Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this
added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to enroll and communicate. With
each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

Important: Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the customer website or customer
app for user code management.
To mitigate the chances of enrollment failure for locks, complete the following during installation.
To enroll a Yale Assure Lock 2 Deadbolt
Important: The Yale Assure Lock 2 Deadbolt requires the Yale app to program the lock and enroll it into the Z-Wave
network. A Pro version of these locks that does not require the installation of this app will be coming soon.
As a SmartStart device:
Important: SmartStart and S2 enrollment are only available on the 700 series versions of the Yale Assure 2 locks. For
the 500 series locks, see
It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add
Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).
