Altex Security i-on10 intruder alarm quick user guide (Sigma)
Your new home has an intruder alarm system which is controlled by a keypad located near to the front
door (see image of keypad above). Intruder detection devices include vibration detectors fitted to
downstairs windows and rear doors. These will detect an intruder trying to force or break the protected
window or door using a hard tool. They do not detect non hard impact and in order to work correctly the
door or window must be securely locked. Opening an unlocked door or window will not cause the alarm
system sirens to activate. Passive infra-red (PIR) motion detectors are located on the landing and in the
front downstairs main room. These will detect an intruder moving around within their view inside the
protected room. They are fitted with a red LED indicator to show when movement is detected. The front
door is the entry and exit point for the alarm system. This has a magnetic switch that responds when the
door is opened. When the alarm is unset, a beep will be heard whenever the front door is opened.
When setting the alarm system, you have approximately 15-20 seconds to leave by this door and the same
time when entering the home. A tone will be heard during exit or entry. On entry you must go directly to
the keypad & enter your 4-digit PIN code within 15-20 seconds to prevent the alarm from activating. An
external alarm siren with flashing strobe light is located on the front of the house and an internal siren is
located above the keypad. These will sound for 15 minutes if the alarm activates due to an intrusion.
To set (arm) and part set the alarm system.
Note the PIN code is only used to unset the alarm. It is set by pressing only button A, B or C as described
