    The pumping systems are suitable for a wide range of non-hazardous area applications across industrial markets. Ensure that the pumping system is suitable for the application. If there are doubts as to the suitability of the pumping system for the application, consult Edwards Applications Engineers for advice.

    Once correctly positioned and levelled, secure the pumping system to the foundation using suitable  mechanical or chemical anchor bolts if not supplied by Edwards. Refer to the installation drawing(s) supplied with the pumping system for the number, location and size of pre-drilled holes.

    Draining and flushing CAUTION If the liquid ring pump is seized and cannot be turned manually, contact the supplier or Edwards. Do not attempt to free the shaft be applying power to the drive motor as damage to the pump may result.

    Check the direction of rotation of the liquid ring pump as follows: 1. Edwards preferred method is to visibly check the cooling fan on the drive motor for direction of rotation. If this is not possible, temporarily remove the drive guard.

    Rotate the standby liquid ring pump drive shaft Edwards preferred method is to temporarily energise the drive motor starter every 10 days to allow the pump shaft to turn through three or four rotations, to prevent pump seizure and grease migration.
