    2. Designed purpose of use The AVANT Mechanical tilt adapter 360° is a coupling adapter that is suitable for use with AVANT compact loaders that are shown in Table 1. The tilt adapter makes it possible to tilt an attachment sideways in both directions.

    7 (26) 3. Safety instructions for using the attachment Please bear in mind that safety is the result of several factors. The loader-attachment combination is highly powerful and improper or careless use or maintenance may cause serious personal injury or property damage.
  • Page 8 8 (26)  Risks of collision, electric shock, and tipping over - Make sure that overhead clearance is sufficient. Hitting an overhead obstacle may cause the loader to tip over. Keep a safe distance from electric cables, lamps, or other electric systems; hitting live parts may cause electric shock.

    9 (26) Using a tilt adapter increased risks of tipping over and roll over - Use the tilt adapter only when necessary to complete specific tasks. Tilt adapter moves the attachment further away from the loader, which increase the risk of tipping over. Also, WARNING tilting an attachment sideways can cause the loader to roll over (turn over to its side).

    10 (26) 3.2 Safe shutdown procedure Safe stopping of the attachment, before going near the attachment: Always stop the attachment following safe stopping procedure before leaving the driver's seat. Safe stopping procedure prevents all unintentional movements of the attachment. Note that the loader boom can move down even if the engine of the loader is turned off.

    13 (26) 4.2 Lifting Make sure that the attachment is properly secured against unintended movements during lifting operation. Use appropriate type of lifting accessories, lifting straps, chains or hooks, for example. Do not use lifting accessories if there are signs of damage, deformation, or otherwise unsafe conditions.

    Do not stay in the area between the attachment and the loader. Mount the attachment only on level surface. WARNING Never move or lift an attachment that has not been locked. Avant quick coupling system: Step 1:  Lift the locking pins of the quick coupling plate of the loader up, and turn them backwards into the slot, so that they are locked in the upper position.

    If your loader is not listed in Table 1 on page, ask your Avant dealer before using this attachment. 5.1 Assembling an attachment to the tilt adapter Attaching an attachment to the tilt adapter is easiest, when the tilt adapter is first mounted on the quick attach plate of the loader.

    16 (26) 6. Instructions for use Check the attachment and the operating environment once more before starting to work, and that all obstacles have been removed from the operating area. Quick inspection of the equipment and the operating area before use are parts of ensuring safety and the best performance of the equipment.

    18 (26) 6.3 Operating the tilt adapter Before starting the attachment: Read all safety instructions. Operating position: Set and adjust the attachment to correct operating position. Correct position depends on the attachment that is fitted to the tilt adapter. The adjacent figure describes the use of the tilt adapter with ice rink scraper blade.

    19 (26) Risk of impact or loss of stability - Pay attention to the coupling of the attachment. When using the tilt adapter with an attachment, which is equipped with a floating system, pay special attention when setting the attachment to correct operating position. Never WARNING turn the attachment equipped with the floating system sideways or upside down in order to avoid impact caused by the attachment, or sudden swing or loss of stability caused by...

    20 (26) Step 4 When the desired position is achieved, reinstall the locking pin (1) and lock it with cotter pin (2). 6.3.2 Maximum load Maximum load for the tilt adapter is 1000 kg when handling a load on standard pallet forks (with the centre of the load at 500 mm front from the vertical part of fork arms).

    21 (26) 6.3.4 Transport position Keep the loader stable. Always transport the attachment as low and close to the ground as possible, and keep the hydraulic boom completely retracted. Also keep the tilt adapter in straight (middle) position during transport drive, as shown in adjacent figure. Risk of tipping over - Keep the loader stable.

    22 (26) 6.4.1 Storage When storing the tilt adapter for longer periods than temporary uncoupling from the loader, the attachment should be disconnected from the tilt adapter and stored separately. Avoid leaving the tilt adapter laying directly on the ground. Place it on blocks of wood or on a pallet, for example.

    23 (26) 7. Maintenance and Service The attachment has been designed to be as maintenance free as possible. Continuous maintenance includes regular cleaning and lubrication, and monitoring the condition of the attachment. Because of the crushing hazard caused by lowering machine parts, all maintenance work must be done when moving parts have been lowered down completely and the attachment is lowered flat against the ground.

    24 (26) 8. Warranty terms Avant Tecno Oy grants a warranty of one year (12 months) from the date of purchase for the attachment it manufactures. The warranty covers repair costs as follows:  Work costs are covered, if the repair is not performed at the factory.
