72 kg (158 lbs.) / (1 kg + 5 kg) = maximum 12 cells.

Physical installation

Warning! Read 'Safety Information' starting on page 8 before installing the MAC
One VDO Grid Mount System.
The safety and suitability of lifting equipment, installation location, anchoring
method, mounting hardware, and suspension structures is the responsibility of
the installer. Observe all local safety regulations and legal requirements when
installing and connecting MAC One VDO Grid Mount System.
Installation must be carried out by qualified professionals only. Contact your
Martin supplier for assistance if you have any questions about how to install this
product safely.
Do not try using the VDO Atomic Coupler with rotating release mechanism with
the MAC One VDO Grid Mount System. It is designed intentionally so that does
not fit!
When using the MAC One VDO Grid Mount System, make sure that all parts of the system are
installed as directed in this user manual to meet the safety requirements of stage and studio
environments.
Respect the following ELL load limits when using the MAC One VDO Grid Mount System:
•
One column consisting of fixtures, Grid Mount Rings, all fasteners and all hardware must
not exceed maximum 72 kg (158 lbs.) in total.
•
Do not exceed the specified ELL when considering the total weight of each column suspended
from Dual VDO Header including all rigging hardware, fixtures, wiring, and safety cables vertically
and horizontally suspended from each column.
•
One single VDO Grid Mount System cell consisting of one VDO Grid Mount Ring, one MAC One
fixture and two VDO Couplers weighs 6 kg (13.23 lbs.).
•
Dual VDO Headers and cells in columns must be fastened side-to-side.
•
Each Dual VDO Header must be suspended from a supporting structure by means of two M12
bolts, one bolt in each M12 suspension point. Bolts must be high-strength steel, grade 8.8
minimum.
