4.1 Indication

• holding function, securing the prosthesis
• prevention of edemas in the stump
• promotion of venous blood return
• holds soft tissues for easy entry into the prosthesis
• also suitable in the case of skin problems or pressure-sensitive stumps due to use of silicone
that cares for and protects the skin

4.2 Contraindication

• skin necrosis
• poor physical condition of the user and/or no assistant available
• uncovered wounds
• very soft skin (e.g. children less than 3 years old)
• fresh skin grafts (less than 4 weeks from the establishment of the skin graft and prior to
epithelialization)
• extremely deep scars in the stump (e.g. obese patients)
• instable stump volume
• very short stump

5 Characteristics

• proprioceptive feedback
• reduction of shear forces in the socket
• significant relief in handling the prosthesis
• can be put on while sitting
• easy to put on without auxiliary aids and/or sprays
• Hygienic cleaning possible

7 Customising the sealing lip liner

7.1 Cutting the sealing lip liner

Attention!
Cutting all sealing lip liners:
1.) The sealing lip liner must be cut straight or diagonally with a pair of wavecut-
scissors.
2.) Please do not cut the sealing lip liner anatomically (see Fig. 2).
