Symbols used / warning and safety instructions Symbols used / warning and safety instructions Classification This symbol, together with the signal word DANGER, warns against immediately imminent threat to life and health of persons. The non-compliance with this safety instruction will lead to death or severe adverse health effects.
1 First steps First steps The Kübler Group, Fritz Kübler GmbH would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in us. This manual is intended to familiarize you with the installation and operation of our draw-wire encoders. Please read carefully before commissioning.
2 Warnings Warnings Injuries due to contact (friction) with the measuring wire during operation Cuts or burns on the hands ► Do not touch the moving measuring wire during operation. Injuries and damage caused by opening the appliance The high stored energy of the drive spring can lead to injuries if handled incorrectly and / or the function can be partially or completely lost.
3 Interchangeable installation (encoder) Interchangeable installation (encoder) Draw wire encoders A50, B80, C120 (option) The option interchangeable installation allows a fast and easy encoder assembly by the customer. Figure 1 A detailed description of the mounting procedure is shown in the following pictures.

3 Interchangeable installation (encoder) Figure 2 1. Start by inserting the encoder into the clamping flange. 2. The encoder is now connected to the clamping flange. Figure 3≥ 3. By tightening the inner radial screw (approx. 2 Nm) with a hexagon screwdriver, size 2.5 the encoder shaft will be clamped to the sensor mechanics and is secured from twisting.
3 Interchangeable installation (encoder) Draw-wire encoder D135 (standard from measuring range ≥10 m) The D135 with measurement ranges ≥10 m is available in interchangeable installation. All incremental and absolute encoders are suitable that have a clamping flange with 36 mm diameter, a shaft diameter of 10 mm and a shaft length between 10 - 20 mm.

By unscrewing the mounting plate, the following threaded holes are alternatively available for mounting. Please note that the fixing screws must not be screwed deeper than 5 mm into the sensor housing. A50: 2 x M3 and 2 x M5 B80:...
4 Mounting or fastening the draw-wire encoder Draw-wire encoder D135 4.2.1 Using the T-Slot nuts The included T-slot nuts can be easily inserted into the grooves of the sensor housing. The nuts have a metric thread M6. Up to a measuring range of 20 m, the delivery includes 2 clamping angles, as from 20 m it includes 4 clamping angles.
4 Mounting or fastening the draw-wire encoder 4.2.2 Using the angle clamp brackets The angle clamp brackets feature a bore for M6 screws to fix it on a plate/ slab or a profile. Up to a measuring range of 20 m, the delivery includes 2 clamping angles, as from 20 m it includes 4 clamping angles.
5 Maintenance Maintenance The devices are maintenance-free. If however, the rope is soiled due to adverse environmental conditions, it can be cleaned with a cloth drenched in resin-free machine oil. R67043.0002 – Index 2 EN - 15...
