    Pull the drive away from the socket to remove it (2). Inspect any thermal pads and if a thermal pad is torn, missing part of the pad, or dirty, replace the thermal pad. To install a solid-state drive, reverse the removal procedures. NOTE: Solid-state drives are designed with a notch to prevent incorrect insertion.

    Disconnect the battery cable from the system board connector (1). Pull the battery (2) up and off the computer. The battery is secured with adhesive.     Remove the plastic bracket (4). Lift the side of the system board upward (1), and then pull the system board (2) away from the connectors on the side of the computer to remove it. To install the system board, reverse this procedure. Display assembly To remove and disassemble the display assembly, use these procedures and illustrations.
  • Page 70 To remove the display assembly from the computer: Disconnect the camera cable (1) from the system board. Disconnect the antenna cables from the terminals (2) on the WWAN module. The number of antenna cables connected to the WWAN module can vary. Remove the cables from the routing channel (3) along the side of the fan.

To replace the display bezel or the internal display assembly subcomponents: Flex the bottom inside edge (1) of the bezel to release it from the display back cover. Flex the left (2) and right inside edges of the bezel to release it. Flex the top inside edge (3) of the bezel to release it.
  • Page 72 To remove the display panel: The display panel is secured to the display back cover with tape that is installed under the left (1) and right sides of the panel. To remove the panel, use tweezers to grasp the end of the tape (2).
