Stand onthefootrailsofthetreadmillFindthechip
attached t othekey(seethedrawing onpage9)
andsfidethechip ontothewaistband o fyour
cHothes. Next,make surethatthecordattached to
thechip is routed underthe Lightspeed bar,and
insert t hekeyintotheconsoHe. Aftera moment,
thedispHays andvarious indicators w HH H ight. Test
theclip by carefullytakinga few stepsback-
warduntilthe keyis pulledfromthe console.If
thekey is not pulledfromthe console,adjust
thepositionof the clip.
HOW
TO USE THE MANUAL MODE
Insert the key into the consote.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER above.
Select the manual mode.
When the key is in-
serted, the manuaH
mode wiHH be seHected
and the indicator on the
ManuaH ControH button
wiHH Hight.Hfyou have se-
Hecteda program, reseHect the manuaH mode by
pressing the ManuaH ControHbutton.
Start the walking
belt.
To start the walking belt, press the Start button,
the Speed increase button, or one of the twelve
Lightspeed buttons,
if the Start button or the Speed increase button is
pressed, the walking belt will begin to move at 1
mph. As you exercise, change the speed of the
walking belt as desired by pressing the Speed in-
crease and decrease buttons. Each time a button
is pressed, the speed
setting wiii change by
0.1 mph; if a button is
held down, the speed
setting will change in in-
crements of 0.5 mph.

Hfone of the Lightspeed buttons is pressed, the
waHkingbeHtwiHH gradually increase in speed untiHit
reaches the selected speed setting. Hndicators on
the button that you press wiHH flash whiHethe speed
of the waHkingbeHtis changing.
CAUTION: The Lightspeed
bar is not intended
to be used as a handlebar. If you hoJd the han-
dJebar for support,
you may unintentionally
press one of the Lightspeed
buttons,
causing
the speed of the walking
belt to increase.
To stop the walking belt, press the Stop button.
The time will begin to flash in the Pace/Time dis-
play. To restart the walking belt, press the Start
button, the Speed increase button, or one of the
twelve Lightspeed buttons.
Note: The first time the treadmiHH is used, observe
the aHignment of the waHkingbeHt,and aHignthe
waHkingbeHtif necessary (see page 28).
Change the incline of the treadmill
as desired.
To change the incHineof
the treadmiHH,press the
HncHine increase and de-
crease buttons. Each
time a button is pressed,
the incHinewiHH change by
0.5%. To change the incHine quickHy, press one of
the ten Quick HncHine buttons.
