Setting up Connecting the antenna
When setting up your TV set, make sure that no bright light or
sunshine falls on the screen, as this may result in pale colours
and a loss of brilliance in the picture.
When it is dark, it is advisible to illuminate the area behind the
TV set slightly to avoid heavy contrast differences which im-
pair your eyes.
No magnetic fields
The TV set should not be placed next to devices with strong
magnetic fields, e.g. motors, loudspeakers. Such magnetic
fields may cause colour spots on the TV screen.
Should such spots appear all the same, disconnect the mains
plug and place the TV set and the magnetic source further
apart from each other.
After about 15 minutes, when the TV set has cooled down
switch the set on again and the colour spots will be elimina-
ted.
Air circulation
Please make sure that the air circulation for cooling the set
will not be impeded.
Do not place the set next to a radiator and ascertain that the
air vents at the rear are not covered.
If heat accumulates in the unit, this may lead to damages.
Viewing distance
When deciding where to place the TV set, please keep in mind
that the viewing distance is important for a good picture per-
ception and eye comfort. The ideal viewing distance depends
on the size of the screen measured between two opposing
corners (diagonal).
The ideal viewing distance is calculated as follows: screen
diagonal multiplied by five.

Connect the antenna system of your house to the antenna
input on the rear of the TV set.

f you wish to connect a video recorder to this set, the antenna
must be connected to the antenna input of the video recorder
and the antenna output of the video recorder to the antenna
input of the TV set.
Mains connection
For mains connection, plug the power supply cable into a 220
V jack.
If you have connected a video recorder to the TV set as de-
scribed in chapter antenna connection, then connect also the
video recorder to a mains socket. The video recorder cannot
be operated without mains voltage.
