PROBLEM
Chain saw does not cut
properly.
Chain becomes loose or
drops off the guide bar
during normal use.
Bar and chain running
hot and smoking.
Low oil indicator
appears on the LCD
screen even though
there is sufficient oil in
the oil tank. Or even if
the oil tank is short of
oil, the LCD screen does
not show the low oil
indicator.

CAUSE
◾
Insufficient chain tension.
◾
Dull chain.
◾
Chain installed backwards.
◾
Worn chain.
◾
Dry or excessively stretched chain.
◾
Chain not in bar groove.
◾
The chain will become loose as the
temperature of the chain increases
during normal saw operation.
◾
Chain does not engage drive sprocket.
◾
If the low oil indicator appears on the
LCD screen, the chain oil tank is empty.
◾
Debris in guide bar groove.
◾
The oil level detection component has
not yet detected the true oil level due to
the residual oil or air in the oil tube.
◾
Oil level detection component failure.

SOLUTION
◾
Readjust the chain tension, following
the section: "ADJUSTING THE CHAIN
TENSION".
◾
Sharpen the chain.
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
◾
Replace the chain, following the section:
"ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE BAR
ANDCHAIN".
◾
Check the oil level. Refill the oil tank
and choose a higher oil supply volume if
necessary.
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section: "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
◾
Tighten the chain tension, following
the section "ADJUSTING THE CHAIN
TENSION".
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section: "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
◾
Check the oil level. Refill the oil tank if
necessary.
◾
Clear the debris in the groove.
◾
Wait a few minutes for any residual oil or
air to drain out of the oil tube.
