lgl Unscrew the two M4 wing nuts and wa5hers , one from
each side of the fluE! hood assembly.
(hl Ease the flue hood assembly off the heat exchanger and
clear of the boiler casing.
Remove the
burner.
(i) Slacken the two M5 screws locatins the air guide to1he
combustion chamber. Using the keyholes. ease the air
guide plate off the screws and out of the boiler casing.
(j l Remove t he four MS screws securing the f ront of the
combust ion chi!!mber. Remove t he front face of the
combustion chamber.
lk) Unscrew the pilot tube retaining nut from the pilot bracket.
Pull outthepilotsupplypipeandremovethepilot injector.

Pull the cable f rom t he spark electrode.
(mj Remove the two
M5
screws at the front of the burner
holding the burner pedestal to the gas manifold.
(n)
Slide the burner out of the rear locations and remove from
boiler cas ing.
NOTE: An
'0'
ring seal wiil be found in the burner foot which
seals w ith the gas manifold flange. This should be removed
and retained for assembly .
4. CLEANING THE FAN
Inspect the fan motor
and
fan impel! or
for
cleanliness. Any
accumulation
of
dust orfiuff should be carefully removed
using a soft brush or
by
blowing. No sharp instruments
to be used which may damage the fan motor or fan wheel.
5. SERVICING THE BURNER
{See Fig. 33.)
(a)
Brush the burner top and check the flame p orts are clear.
Any blockages may be removed using
a
suitable brush .

Clean the pilot shield and pilot burner.
Removethepilot shield by unscrewing the two M4 screws
and
nuts. Clean if necessary. Remove the pilot bracket and
electrode by unsctewing the two M4 screws. Clean if
necessary.
(c) Reassemble the pilot burner and electrode w ith the two
M4 screws. Reassemb le the pilot shield with the two M4
screws and nuts.

Remove the burner injector. Clean any deposits f rom the
injector and ftom the burner venturi using
a
suitable brush.
(el Clean any deposits from the pilot injector by rinsing
in
warm water or using a suitable brush.
NOTE:
Do
not use a wire brush or any other implement likely
t o cause damage .
6. CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER
(See Fig.
34.)
(a )
Cover the open end of the gas manifold and the pilot
supply pipe and controls contained in the lower part of the
appliance.
(b) Using a suitable brush clean the heat exchanger fins f rom
above and below.
NOTE: The insulation used on the inside surfaces of the
combustion chamber is delicate. Great care should be taken
when c!eantng
th e
heat exchanger not
to
abrade it.
No
attempt
should be made
tO
clean the insulation and the sections should
be replaced if there is any visible deterioration whatsoever.
7.
RE-ASSEMBLE
Reassemble t he appliance in reverse order to the
dismantling procedure.
(a)
Refit the burner injector t o the burner.
NOTE:
Thread sealing compound shall hot be used to seal the
injector.
(b) Inspect the '0 ' ring seal, if there is any sign of damage or
deterioration it must be replaced.
(cl Refit the ' 0' ring seal into the burner foot an d teplacethe
burner in position under t he combustion chamber. Ensure
the burner is f itted correctly in the reat location, the

ring se al is not displaced and the pilot tubing is not
damaged.

Refit the two
M 5
screws holding t he burner pedestal to
the gas manifold .
(e)
Reconnect the cable
to
the electrode.
(f) Refit the pilot inject or and the pilot supply pipe to the pilot
burner assembly making sure t hat the pilot injector is clean
and not blocked . T he spark electrode should be replaced
if it shows signs of damage or erosion. [See Section 1 6,
part 4 Rep lacement of Parts.)
(g}
Replace the f ron t face of the combustion chamber and
hold it in position using the four
M5
screws. Leave screws
loose .
(hi Replace the air guide plate to the combustion chamberand
tighten screws t o secure air guide plate and combustion
chamber.
(i ) lnspecttheflue hood assembly sealing gasket and replace
if damaged . See Section 16, Replacement of Parts ,
lnstruction 7.
(jl Replace t he flue hood assembly posit ioning it centraHy
overt he heat exchanger. Ensure the two extension bolts
are located. Secure wit h the t wo M4 wing nut s and
washers.
(k)
Reassemble the flue duct dam ping ring to the flue duct
housing and secure wit h the two extension w ing bolts.
Ensure tt:e extension w ing bolts pass t!"'rough the
clearance holes in t he flue duct housing and engage in t he
threaded holes in
the
fl ue duct clamping
ring .

Slide the
tan
assembly iully inta the locations and secure
in position with the M4 screw.

Reco nnect the flexible tu be to the lofthand side oft
he
f an
housing and electrical c onnec tion to the plug -in terminal
strip fixed
to
the right-hand side of the boiler casing.
(n I Inspect the flue terminal and ilue t erminal g uard if fitted.
8.
TEST THE PILOT SUPPLY
PIPE FOR
GAS
SOUNDNESS
(a
I
Ease the two pink wires from t he terminals on the lefthand
side of the gas valve .
(bl Position the User's Operating Switch to OFF or, if a
programmer is fitted position the two programme selector
switches to OFF.
(cl Turn on the
gas
at the gas service cock and recon nect t he
electricity supply.

Posi, ion the users operating switch to HEATING
AND
WATER or, it
a
programmer is fitted posit ion the two
programme selector switches to 2.4 hrs setting. turn t he
room thermostat to maximum.
NOTE:
(i) A continuous spark will occur u ntil the pilot is alight and
sensed by the electronic circuit .

The fan will
run
but the main burner w ill not ligtlt.
fe) Test for gas soundness at t he joint between the pilot
supply pipe tubing nut and the pilot bracket with leak
detec tion f lu id .
(f} Position the Users Operating Switch to OFF or, if
a
programmer is fitted position the two programme selector
switches t o OFF. Disconnect the electrical supply at t he
mains.
(g)
Reconnect the two pink wires to the tl!r minals on the left
hand side of the gas valve, polarity
is
not important.
{h) Inspect the boiler inner cover sealing gasket . If there is
damage or deterioration re place the boiler front cover.
(i)
Replace the boiler in ner cover . Ensure the gasket seal is
correct ly locat ed. Fasten w ith the six M5 screws
prev1ously removed . Tighten the screws evenly and
$Uffidentiy to ensure there is no alr leakage around the
boiler i nner cover.
9. TEST APPLIANCE ANO INSTALLATION
(a) Ensure that t he
gas
is turned on at the gas service cock
and reconnect the elect ricity supply.
