APPLIANCE

1. Primary Installation: Before connecting t he appliance to
t he primary system it must be flushed t hrough w ith clean
water.
2 . Gas Installation: tile whole of the gas installation including
the meter shall be
in~>pected
and tested for soundness, and
purged in accordance w ith the reco mmendations of BS
6891 .
3 . Check that the gas se rvice cock is o1f and the electrical
supply is off. turn the thermostat knob to maximum , do
not fit the inner cover.
4 . Open all rad iator valves and fill the system venting as
necessary. The appliance is f itted w ith a manual air vent
on the outlet of t he black heat exchanger. See Fig. 40.
Check for water soundness.
5 . Drain the heating system and boiler completely and refill
t he system venting as detailed in Instruction 4 .
6 . Po sition the U ser's Ope rating Swi t ch to OFF. If a
programmeris fitted, switch both hotwaterandheating
selector switches to OFF. Switch the electrical supply off.
7 . Test t h e pilot supply p ipe for gas soundness and adjust
the pilot flame .

(c) T urn on the gas at the gas service c ock and reconnect the
electricit y supply.

programme selector switches to 24 hrs setting. Turn the
room thermostat to maximum.

previously removed . Tighten the screws evenly and
sufficiently to ensure there is no air leal<:age around the
boiler in ner cover.

Position t l'le Users Operating switch t o HEATING AND
WATER, or if a programmer is fitted, position selector
switches to 24 hrs setting . Turn the room thermostat,
if
f itted, to maximum.
NOTE: The appliance is fully sequence controlled . In this
mode
of
operation
a
cont inuous spark will occur until t he
pilot is alight and sensed by the electronic circuit . The main
burnef will then light automatically and smoothly. Check
the pilot shape and size. Refer to item 7t and 7g f or sizes
and method of adjustment. lftne pilot and burner will not
ligl'lt contact Worcester Heat System s Service Dept.
Test all joints and components for gas soundness using
leak detection fluid.

(b) After a short warming up period t he gas pressure w ill
modulilte and t he w ater temperature remain constant. To
check the min imum g as pressure it m ay be necessary to
reduce the water flow at the tap if the water inlet
temperature islow. The m inimumgaspressureisbetween
3 .0 and 3.5 m bar.
