SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS General Safety Instructions •Before using the machine, always check both it and the tractor for roadworthiness and operational safety! •As well as the notes in these instructions the operator is ad- vised to comply with the generally applicable safety at work reg- ulations and those relating to use of the public highway! •...
  • Page 11 • Never leave the driver's seat whilst in motion! • Handling behaviour, steerability and braking are influenced by mounted implements, trailers and ballast weights. Check for sufficient steerability and braking! • When driving round bends note the width of the machine and/or changing centre of gravity of the implement.
  • Page 12 • Regularly check the hydraulic pipes and replace them in the event of dam- age or signs of ageing. The replacement pipes must comply with the tech- nical specification as laid down by Lemken! • When searching for leaks appropriate equipment should be used because of the danger of injury! •...
  • Page 13 Maintenance • Repair-, maintenance- and cleaning operations as well as adjustments and remedy of function faults should principally be conducted with engine stopped and brakes applied. • Page 16: Preparation Of The Tractor

PREPARATION OF THE TRACTOR Tyres Ensure that all tyres - especially the rear ones - are at identical pressure. Tractor three point linkage 4.2.1 General Instruction The tractor three point linkage must correspond to the DIN-ISO 730. 4.2.2 Lift rods Adjust lift rods of the tractor three point linkage to equal length.
  • Page 17: Attaching And Detaching The Implement

Before detaching the Quarz, the hydraulic three point linkage - if fitted - must be lowered completely, if a seed drill or another implement is fitted. Before detaching the folding Quarz 7 K must be lifted completely, folded-out and after that lowered again completely.
  • Page 18: Folding-In And -Out The Lateral Sections - Quarz K

FOLDING-IN AND -OUT THE LATERAL SECTIONS - QUARZ K For transport the QUARZ K com- pact combinations must be folded- in hydraulically. For the folding-in device a double acting spool valve is required. By moving the spool valve into the first pressure position, the wing sections will be folded-in.
  • Page 19 Possibly required adjustment cor- rections can be done by the adjus- ter screws (ET) or (AT). After the adjustment tighten counter nut (KM) carefully. •Read and adhere to the General Safety Instructions as well as to the Instructions 'Hydraulic equipment'!
  • Page 20: Adjustments

ADJUSTMENTS Draw bar By means of adjusting the carrier (1) the draw bar (2) can be set in 3 different positions. Depending on the equipment of the compact com- bination (wheel mark eradicators, levelling bar or clearance between tractor and implement) the Quarz can always be fitted to the tractor with optimum position of the centre of gravity.
  • Page 21: Working Depth Of The Tines

Working depth of the tines By means of the pin adjustment (6) with pin (7) the working depth of the tines (4) can be adjusted, and that in 2 cm steps. When in lifted position the distance between roller (10) and ground is too small, this distance can be in- creased by fitting the free pin (5) into the hole (8) beneath the carrier...
