VFD ALARMS AND FAULTS
TROUBLESHOOTING
The VFD has two LEDs ACH550/ACS320 or only one LED
ACH580 on its front panel that indicate VFD operating status.
These LEDs are GREEN and RED.
GREEN LED ON STEADY: Power ON to VFD
GREEN LED FLASHING: Alarm condition detected
RED LED ON (Steady or Flashing): Fault condition detected

Alarms

Alarms are advisory in nature. These indicate a problem has
been detected by the VFD's diagnostics, but this problem will
not require that the VFD and its motor be shut down. Typical
fault condition on the 2-Speed Indoor Fan Motor application
might be loose connections at the VFD terminal board or dam-
aged conductors between the Fan Speed Board connector J2
and the VFD terminal strip. For ACH550/ACS320 units see
Table 26 on page 49 for list of alarm codes. For ACH580 units
see Table 27 on page 55.
CLEAR THE ALARM LED
Shut off power to the VFD for five minutes. Restore power
and recheck the GREEN LED. If this LED is still flashing,
connect the accessory remote display keypad kit and follow
the troubleshooting instructions. For ACH550/ACS320 units
see "ACH550/ACS320 VFD Diagnostics" on page 47. For
ACH580 units see "ACH580 VFD Diagnostics" on page 54.

Faults

A fault is a significant internal situation for the VFD or its mo-
tor. If the motor was running when the fault was detected, it
was shutdown. For ACH550/ACS320 units see Table 25 on
page 48, for ACH580 units see Table 27 on page 55. Connect
the accessory remote display keypad kit and follow the trouble-
shooting instructions. For ACH550/ACS320 units see
"ACH550/ACS320 VFD Diagnostics" on page 47. For
ACH580 units see "ACH580 VFD Diagnostics" on page 54.
CLEAR THE FAULT LED
Shut off power to the VFD for five minutes. Restore power and re-
check the RED LED.
