    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing the EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 UPS. The UPS was designed to provide the best protection to the connected devices against power failures and their consequences. This manual contains information about operating the UPS and safety precautions. We recommend carefully reading the manual before using the EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 UPS to better understand how to use it properly.

The rectifier converts the mains AC into DC. Before commencing the various procedures described in this manual, make sure to read the general (and specified here) safety instructions, OHS information, environmental precautions and legal stipulations, and observe them.

POWERLINE DARK 33 UPS units are not intended to operate directly with medical equipment, life-supporting equipment or any other equipment that may have effect on health.
  • Page 8 EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual CAUTION! Only TN-S or TN-C-S mains configurations are allowed at the UPS unit's input, and only a TN-S configuration is allowed at the UPS unit’s output. CAUTION! No extension cords may be used for connecting the UPS.

If any problems arise when following the instructions presented in the document, contact the EVER service department (www.ever.eu). • Never disconnect the grounding at the UPS unit or at the terminals of the building's electrical system, as this will disable the UPS unit's protective grounding.

Make sure there is no dangerous voltage on the unit’s internal DC elements. • WARNING: Only properly authorized and qualified service technicians who have legally required protection gear may replace batteries.

The UPS should be stored in dry, well ventilated rooms. • If the UPS is to be stored for a longer time, the batteries should be recharged at least every 6 months.

    USER INTERFACE MENU STRUCTURE Fig. 5 presents the main menu structure of the POWERLINE DARK 33 60 – 200 kVA UPS. The main menu has six branches (menu options); Cabinet, Power unit - Module, Setting, Log, Operate and Scope. To switch between menus and submenus, press the corresponding menu or submenu icon.

Individual screens show parameters (values of current, voltage, power, temperature and error codes) for individual power modules installed in the UPS.

    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual UPS OPERATING MODE MAINS mode (normal) For the UPS to operate in MAINS (normal) mode, the voltage in power supply lines (basic lines) must satisfy the mains correctness criteria (correct voltage and frequency values).

For the UPS to operate in ECO mode, the mains correctness criteria must be satisfied for the basic lines and the bypass line. The UPS switches to BACKUP mode if the parameters of any of the lines are no longer correct.

    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual FREQUENCY CONVERTER mode In FREQUENCY CONVERTER mode, the UPS can generate a constant output voltage frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. If the mains supply is interrupted or the power supply lines fail to meet the mains correctness criteria, the UPS switches to BACKUP mode, supplying power to receivers connected to the UPS output.

    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual CAUTION! Given the method of packaging the product, pay special attention when unpacking it. A falling device may pose a risk to health or life. The UPS is packaged in a way that ensures safe transport (also with a forklift truck).

Consequently, the UPS unit’s ventilating openings must be always uncovered and the distance between the UPS and other items should be no less than 50 cm. For maintenance purposes, make sure there is at least 80 cm of free space in front of the device for easy access.

    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual EXTERNAL BATTERIES The POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS units have not internal batteries. The battery power is provided by connecting an external battery pack, that is not a part of the device, to the UPS terminals connectors batteries.

  • Page 37 EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual Connecting is done by bolting the ends of specific wires to the terminals. Use wires with correct diameters as per the installation guidelines. The wires should end with metal eye connectors.

    1. Make sure that Q1, Q2 and Q4 protection devices are switched to OFF; if not, switch them to OFF (only applies to 60 kVA - 120 kVA models). CAUTION! POWERLINE DARK 33 150kVA – 200kVA UPS unit are equipped with bypass switches only. Input line (main and bypass line) protection devices and output devices must be installed in the external switching board providing power to the UPS.

    5. Switch the UPS unit’s Q4 output protection and Q1, Q2 input protection devices (the main and the bypass lines) to ON. For POWERLINE DARK 33 150kVA – 200kVA UPS units activate protection devices in the external switching board. The inverter starts supplying the energy stored in the batteries to the output.

    UPS UNIT’S ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS DRY CONTACTS The EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 UPS is equipped with dry contacts (J2 – J10), which can be used to signal and control specifically assigned operating states of the UPS. Ambient and battery temperature detection To read the battery and ambient temperature, connect temperature sensors (R25= 5kΩ, B25/50=3275) to terminals J2 and J3, respectively.

The presence of at least one alarm closes or opens the relay’s contacts (depending on the configuration of the connector). Fig. 36 presents the manner of making the connection. Table 18 presents the pinout and the relevant description.

    Spilled electrolyte is harmful to skin and eyes and may also be toxic. OPERATION OF THE UPS WITH POWER GENERATORS The POWERLINE DARK 33 series UPS units are ON-LINE devices that synchronize their operation with the mains voltage. By design, the UPS tolerates, to a certain extent, changes of the mains voltage and changes of the frequency in relation to the default frequency of 50 Hz (see the technical parameters table).

    The UPS should be stored and transported in conditions conforming to the installation guidelines covered in a separate document attached to the UPS. If these requirements are not satisfied, EVER Sp. z o.o. will not be liable for any mechanical damage arising during transportation.

    EVER POWERLINE DARK 33 60-200 kVA UPS Operating Manual DISPOSAL The disposal / recycling of UPS units and/or batteries should be entrusted to a specialist waste contractor with suitable licence or authorization to engage in waste disposal / recycling. Handling used electric and electronic equipment reduces the harmful consequences for human health and natural environment caused by the presence of dangerous components and improper storage or processing such equipment.
