5.2 Joys• ck
All the electronic components to control the wheelchair are
integrated to the joys• ck (Fig. 5.1). The joys• ck is located on
one of the armrests and is connected together to the power
box with motors and ba• ery.
Power Switch: switches powerchair on and off . Do not
stop the wheelchair driving by using the switch unless
there is an emergency, otherwise it will shorten the life of
the wheelchair drive components.
Joys• ck Lever: The main func• on of the joys• ck is to
control the direc• on and speed of the wheelchair. The
joys• ck is pushed from its central posi• on. When it is
released, it will automa• cally reset and decelerate.
Horn Bu• on: Press this bu• on, the horn will sound.
Speed increase Bu• on and Speed decrease Bu• on:
A" er turning on the power, the speed indicator displays
the current maximum driving speed, and will increase
or decrease by one bar with each press on the speed
increase bu• on or speed decrease bu• on. The quan• ty of
displayed bars represents the current maximum speed.
Charger Socket: This socket can be used only for
wheelchair charging (Fig. 5.2) Do not use the socket to
supply power to any other electrical device. Otherwise, it
may damage the wheelchair's control system or its E.M.C
(electromagne• c compa• bility) performance.

5.3 Making a transfer

Sunrise Medical recommend that you consult your healthcare
professional for assistance in developing your personal front or
side transfer technique to best suit your needs and avoid any
personal injury.
Preparing for a forward transfer:
DANGER!
It is dangerous to transfer on your own. It requires good
balance and agility. Be aware that there is a point during every
transfer when the sea• ng system seat is not below you.
WARNING!
When transferring the user in or out of the sea• ng system
never use the armrest as a means of support.
