The chimney should be designed and constructed according to these instructions, and relevant regulations including Building Regulations Approved Document Shape and size of chimney: A round chimney of 125mm diameter is recommended. 125mm is also the minimum diameter which should be used.

In intensely cold periods it is good practice to leave the heating system running. In the event of a prolonged absence, anti-freeze must be added to the heating water or the system must be completely emptied.
