If considering using the product in other industries, consult SMC beforehand and exchange specifications or a contract if necessary. If anything is unclear, contact your nearest sales branch.
3.Precautions Selection Danger ① Absorbed energy Select a model so that the total energy of impact objects does not exceed the maximum absorbed energy. Otherwise, it may lead to changes in the characterisitics, or damage to the product. ② Equivalent mass Select a model so that the equivalent mass does not exceed the allowable value.
④ Cutting oil, water, dust, metallic dust RBL series is a shock absorber which is used in environment where the product may be splashed by non-water soluble cutting oil. Do not use the product in conditions where a liquid such as water soluble cutting oil, water, solvent. etc. is exposed either directly or in atomized form to the piston rod, or where dust could stick to the area around the piston rod.
Mounting Warning ① Before performing installation, removal, or stroke adjustment, be sure to cut the power supply to the equipment and verify that the equipment has stopped. ② Installation of protective cover It is recommended to install a protective cover if there is a risk of people coming close to the product while it is in use.

③ Rotating angle If the impact object rotates around a fulcrum, mount the product so that the load is applied in the direction perpendicular to the center of axis of the product. The slide load impact angle to the stroke end must be θ2<3 Allowable slide load impact angle θ...
⑥ Adjust the stopping time by using a stopper nut. Control the stopping time of an impact object by turning the stopper nut in or out (thus changing length “a”). After establishing the stopper nut position, use a hexagon nut to secure the stopper nut in place. The performance of the shock absorber is deteriorated over the time of usage.
Life and replacement period of shock absorber Caution ① As a guide, the number of operating cycles (the product life) which the product can last when used according to the catalog is as follows. 1 million times RBL1006, 1007, 1411, 1412, 2015, 2725 Note) The product life (appropriate replacement period) is at an ordinary temperature (20 to 25 It depends on the operating conditions such as temperature, so in some cases the product will need to be replaced sooner than the above value.
