Operation with PIR
1. The Whale Sense unit and solenoids should be installed in an accessible location.
Fig 1. shows the Whale Sense in the area above the bathroom ie loft space.
2. Position the PIR so that the entry of the user to the showering area activates the solenoids.
Where the sensor is being fitted above the showering area it must be IP65.
3. The light sensitivity level of the PIR needs to be set at a low level to detect in all light conditions.
4. The PIR (not the Whale Sense) controls the duration that the solenoids are opened once movement
is detected. Set the duration of the PIR to several minutes. Any movement of the user will keep
reseting the timer to the start. This period will determine how long after the user leaves the shower
before the solenoid closes.
5. When the user enters the shower area the solenoids are activated and held open for the pre-set period.
Note: Follow the PIR manufacturer's instructions for installation and setup.
