Important Information

Please read the following information before setting up a Bluetooth
connection between the Whale Instant Match transformer and Whale Sense:
General
• When wiring the solenoids ensure there is no power to the Whale Sense unit. Check that no
wire strands are across the terminals as this may result in damage to the Whale Sense unit.
• The solenoids can be placed either before or after the flow sensors (when used with the
Whale Instant Match transformer)
• The electrical wiring must conform to wiring regulations BS7671: 2018 (18th Edition).
• The Whale Sense unit, flow sensors / switches and solenoids must be accessible.
• If any component or cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified individual to avoid a hazard.
• The Whale Sense may be used on the bathroom lighting circuit. When a PIR is used to power the
Whale Sense, this may be powered from the bathroom lighting circuit.
Bluetooth
• Bluetooth 5.1 technology is designed to operate through brick and tiled walls. However, Bluetooth
like other wireless technologies will not transmit through foil backed insulation or metal walls.
Non-metal access panels should be used where the Whale transformer is installed in a boxing.

• The Bluetooth
Transformer 755.699. Compatible Bluetooth wireless technology enabled transformers can be easily
identified by part number 755.699.
• Previous Whale Instant Match Bluetooth transformers 755.678 will not operate with Whale Sense
• For optimum signal strength, mount the transformer within 7 metres of the shower.
Note: Whale recommend the Whale Sense and any solenoids or sensors are accessible for maintenance purposes.
Please note, the solenoids and flow sensors are both directional (as indicated by the arrow).
