Whale Sense without Solenoids
To overcome situations where hard wiring the transformer to the flow sensors / flow switches is not
possible, Whale Sense may be used to transmit the flow signal via Bluetooth. Whale Sense may
also be used without solenoids. The corresponding settings for a flow sensor and a flow switch on
the Whale Instant Match transformer are shown in Fig 13.A and 13.B.

1. Pairing of Whale Sense to Whale Instant Match
A. When first powered on, the Whale Sense will flash red indicating it is unpaired.
B. To place Whale Sense in pairing mode, press and HOLD the blue test button and wait for the LED to flash
red/green, indicating pairing mode. NOTE: You have 120 seconds to pair the Whale Sense to the transformer.
C. Switch the mains electric supply to the Instant Match transformer on
D. The light on the transformer will flash red to indicate it is unpaired.
E. Press and HOLD the blue test button and wait for the LED to flash red/green, indicating pairing mode.
F. You will hear 3 audible beeps and the transformer will flash green only to indicate successful pairing with the Whale Sense.
G. The LED on the Whale Sense will also flash green showing paired state.
2. Unpairing Whale Sense and Whale Instant Match
A. On Whale Instant Match transformer, remove the red jumper from the 'pipe diameter' setting.
B. Press and HOLD the blue test button and wait for an audible beep indicating unpairing is complete.
C. The LED on the Instant Match transformer will flash red indicating it is unpaired. Replace the red jumper.
D. The LED on the Whale Sense will flash red to indicate it is unpaired.
3. Paired but 'no power' on Whale Sense
A. If the Instant Match transformer and Whale Sense are paired but there is no power on
Whale Sense then the LED on Instant Match transformer will flash blue every 10 seconds.
