Paper Out Switch Check
•
The paper out switch is set to operate between 0.050 rn. and 0.080 in.
•
when the paper rel ease lever is forward.
To check, first place a 0. 050 in.
feeler gauge between the switch actuator and the paper-out detecting bracket,
the switch should not operate.
Replace the 0.050 in. gauge with
a
0.080 in.
feeler gauge and the switch should now activate.

Paper Out Switch Adjustment
To adjust the paper out switch, set the paper release lever to the forward
or released position.
Then loosen the two paper out switch adjusting screws
shown in figure 5-24.
Adjust the paper out switch so
a
standard sheet of
paper activates the switch causing the change paper indicator to extinguish
When the paper is removed the indicator should illuminate.
NOTE
When the paper release lever is in the forward
position, the paper-out sensors should extend into
the deflector.
When the lever is back, the sensor
should be even with or just below the deflector.

Pressure Rollers Check
The clearance between the rollers assembly shaft and the paper guide is
set to operate at 0.015 in. as shown in figure 5-24.
To check, first place a
0.015
in.
feeler
gauge between
the rollers
assembly shaft
and
the
paper
guide.
It
is important that the clearance for all roller assembly shafts be
equal so as to provide even paper to platen pressure.
This clearance should
not be so great that the shaft and rollers can fall out of the holding tabs.

Pressure Rollers Adjustment
To adjust the clearance between the rollers assembly shaft and the paper
guide, the tabs at the ends of the rollers assembly shaft (see figure 5-25)
must be adjusted with a long nose pliers.
While adjusting the tabs, place a
0.015 in. feeler gauge between the rollers assembly shaft and the paper guide
and align the clearance between the rollers assembly shaft and the paper guide
to measure 0.015 in .
