Segmeni: A reflects the state of daisy home sensor.
If
the daisy wheel is
at home position, segment A will light,
if daisy is not at home position
segment A will be extinguished.
Rotating the daisy wheel should activate the
sensor causing segment A to blink on then off as the daisy wheel passes home
position.
Segment
B reflects
the
state
of
the
right margin
sensor.
When
the
carriage is at the right margin sensor segment B will light.
Pushing the
carriage to the extreme right activates the right margin sensor
Segment C as well as the Change paper LED on the front panel reflect the
state of the paper out sensor.
If
there is no paper in the platen both
segment C and the Change paper LED will light.
Segment D as well as the Malfunction LED reflect the state of the cover
open switch.
If the cover is open both segment D and the Malfunction LED will
light.
Segment E as well as the Change ribbon LED on the front panel reflect the
state of the ribbon out sensor.
If
a change ribbon condition exists (the
reflective surface has moved in front of ribbon out sensor) both segment E and
the Change ribbon LED will light.
Segment F reflects the state of the left margin sensor.

4.10.1
GENERAL
The switch test checks the functioning of the Select and Impression
membrane switches on the control panel.
The Test switch can not be checked
but must be working in order to initiate any of the tests.
