Press the Test switch and observe that the Malfunction, Change Paper,
Change Daisy, Change Ribbon control panel LED's illuminate while the
Low, High, and Select LED's remain extinguished.
NOTE
Only the first switch pressed during the following
test sequence will initiate a switch test.
When
this switch is released the next switch can be
pressed to initiate the next switch test.

Press the Select switch and observe that the Select LED and segment A
of the test panel seven segment indicator illuminate.

Press the control panel Low Impression switch and observe that both
its Low LED and segment F of the test panel indicator illuminate.

Press the control panel High Impression switch and observe that both
its High LED and segment B of the test panel indicator illuminate.

Press the control panel Test switch again to end the test.

PRINT QUALITY ADJUSTMENT TEST
4. 11. 1 GENERAL
This
The print quality adjustment test provides a uniform method for judging
the
mechanical
alignment
of
the
daisy
head
and
the
hammer.
The
test
continuously prints out three full platen width lines of text.
The printer
prints first a full platen line of underscores, then a line of cents signs and
finally a line of capital H's (the H's are all printed on virgin ribbon no
matter what type ribbon is installed in the printer).
The ribbon type switch
operates normally for all lines of text other than capital H's.
The Burn In
test uses this test but stops it after three lines; whereas, during this test
it runs until the Test switch is pressed.

PRINT QUALITY ADJUSTMENT TEST PROCEDURE
a.
Set the five test dip switches for the print quality adjustment test
as listed in table 4-1.
b.
Load full-platen width paper into the printer.
c.
Press the Test switch.
d.
e.
If the printer is operating normally, both the Test and Low LED's
will Illuminate and the Malfunction LED will extinguish.
If the Malfunction
LED
illuminates,
check
the
Error
Code
seven
segment display to identify the malfunction.
