4. 3 UNPACKING
The printer is packaged in a cardboard container containing the following
items:
a.
Two ribbon cartridges
b.
Two daisy print wheels
c.
Printer ac power cord
d.
Installation and instruction manual
e.
One 25 ft. (7.6m) dual coax cable (Printer to Master CPU) (Serial I/O).
One 12 ft. (3.4m) 18 twisted pair cable (Printer to Master CPU)
(Parallel I/O) •
. The printer unit is shipped on a two-piece wood pallet with a cardboard
box ·strapped over it (see figure 4-1).
Styrofoam protection is provided at
the top llnd bottom of the box.
The unit is removed by cutting the packing
straps, lifting the top cover of the box with the styrofoam ·protection from
the top of the printer and then
lifting the
printer
from
the
cardboard
box/pallet.
4.4 SYSTEM INTERCONNECTIONS
After unpacking the printer, place it in the planned location and complete
the following interconnection.
a.
Connect
the
6.5
ft.
ac
power
cable
from
receptacle
at
rear
of
the
printer
to
the
three-prong power output receptacle.

INITIAL TURN ON AND POWER UP DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
the
ac
power
input
designated
grounded
a.
Turn the printer on (do not connect to master CPU unit) and wait
until the Malfunction LED (see paragraph 3.1.2) illuminates.
The
seven segment Error Code display (see paragraph 3.1. 3 and figure
3-4) should display a 2.
