DAISY HOME ADJUSTMENT TEST
4.12.1
GENERAL
The daisy home adjustment test provides the procedure for setting the
daisy wheel home position. When the daisy wheel is instructed to find home
position, it first clears the home sene- •· by moving the wheel ten petals
clockwise from the home senRor (if the home senbor does not turn off after
several tries the sensor is assumed to be stuck on). The wheel is then
stepped one petal at a time counterclockwise until the home sensor turns on.
After the sensor is energized, the printer checks the
~urrent
daisy motor
phase. If it is not the home phase ( phase eight or HEX FC ) the wheel is
moved phase by phase until the home phase is reached. The problem that arises
when adjusting the daisy wheel for home position is that the sensor is two
petals wide and each petal is four phases wide which makes it advisable to
fine tune the daisy motor so that the first phase that turns it provides a
daisy home between phases 3 and 6.
4.12.2
DAISY HOME ADJUSTMENT TEST PROCEDURE
a. Set the five test DIP switch for the Daisy Home Adjustment test as
listed in table
4-1.
b. Press the Test switch.
c. The seven segment error code display will clear.
d. Press the Select switch •
f.
The daisy whed will drive to home position. If the daisy does not
home because of a hardware failure the Malfunction LED will
illuminate and the seven segment error code display will display the
error.
g.
After the daisy wheel successfully drives to home position, it will
step off the home sens or then move toward home one phase at a time
with a very long time delay to find the first phase that turn the
home sensor on •
