In order to enhance theft protection, the vehicle is equipped with a "PIAGGIO IMMO-
BILIZER" electronic engine locking device that is activated automatically when the
remote control moves away from the vehicle.
The remote control has an integrated electronic device that enables communication
between the IMMOBILIZER control unit and the engine management control unit to
allow the engine to be started.

Whenever, with the starter switch in the "OFF" or "LOCK" position, the user moves
away from the vehicle by more than 1.5 meters, holding the previously activated and
authenticated remote control, the protection system activates the switch (and engine)
locking.

By pressing and releasing the starter switch, the "PIAGGIO IMMOBILIZER" system
will check the remote control.
Only if the protection system recognizes the remote control will it be possible to turn
the starter switch to "ON" to start the engine.
