Maintenance & trouble shooting
Maintenance of engine according to separate operating
instructions from the engine supplier.
Maintenance work
Clean water filter (if attached - option)
• A water filter can be fitted on the water inlet to prevent
large particles of dirt from entering into the pump.
1 Unscrew the union nut.
2 Remove the filter and rinse it. Replace damaged filter.
3 Tighten the union nut gently, so as to avoid damaging
the gasket.
Clean high pressure nozzle
• A blocked nozzle causes excessive pump pressure.
It must therefore be cleaned immediately.
1 Stop the washer.
2 Remove the nozzle from the lance.
3 Clean the nozzle with a needle.
4 Rinse lance with water from the end where nozzle
should be attached.
NOTE! Use the cleaning needle only when the spray
lance has been removed.
Quick Couplers
There is an o-ring seal inside the female quick couplers.
This o-ring will deteriorate or, if the unit is allowed to pump
without the high pressure hose or nozzle attached, the
o-ring may be blown out occasionally.
Insert a replacement o-ring to correct the leak. Additional
o-rings can be purchased from your dealer.
Belt Tension Adjustment
On belt driven models - To maintain peak performance, it
may be necessary to occasionally adjust the belt tension.
Perform the following steps:
1. Remove belt guard and loosen two nuts on each side
of pump.
2. Turn cap screw clockwise until a 1/2 in. (12.7 mm) belt
deflection is noticed between the pulleys.
3. Tighten side nuts.
4. Put a straight edge across both pulleys. If necessary,
loosen one set of pulley screws and adjust in or out to
properly align. Tighten pulley screws and check tension
again.
5. Replace belt guard and tighten fasteners securely.
Checking the pump oil level
F1- 2 • Check whether the oil level is in the middle of the oil
inspection glass, or max of dip stick. Top up with oil if
necessary.
Changing the pump oil
1 Before changing the oil, allow the pressure washer to
become warm.
2 Unscrew/open the plugs/lid at the top and the bottom of
the pump.
3 Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container
(min. 1 l capacity) and dispose of oil in compliance with
regulations.
4 Mount plug at the bottom of the pump.
5 Fill pump with fresh oil.
6 Check the oil level.
12
